Rock the Decade Gala celebrating the 1950s

The Florida Theatre will hold its 3rd Annual Rock the Decade Gala on May 16 at the Florida Theatre at 128 East Forsyth Street in Jacksonville. More than 250 guests are expected to attend the gala and fundraising event.

The night will include handcrafted cocktails, plated dinner, and a live auction. Guests will end the evening inside on the Theatre's stage dancing to live music by Billy Buchanan and the Free Avenue Band and enjoying desserts.

The Theatre's Rock the Decade gala benefits its programming and operations. Founded in 1927, the Florida Theatre is only one of four remaining high-style movie palaces of its kind in Florida. After reopening in 1983 as a nonprofit organization, the Florida Theatre is considered one of the finest concert venues in the Southeast and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, drawing upwards of 150,000 people annually. The Florida Theatre continues to enhance North Florida’s quality of life by providing diverse and memorable experiences in arts and entertainment, and by preserving its unique history as an icon in Jacksonville.
